KASEY CHAMBERS - Little Bird Takes Flight on Sept 17

Australian singer-songwriter KASEY CHAMBERS is set to release her 5th solo album entitled LITTLE BIRD on September 17th.

Written and recorded in February and March, this new 14-song collection is one of her most diverse offerings to date. Listen closely and you'll hear a poignant note behind the sunny, optimistic sound of LITTLE BIRD, as Kasey reflects on a young woman's insecurities.

"I started remembering how I felt when I wrote Not Pretty Enough and comparing it to how I feel now. I was wondering how that sentiment would come out if I revisited it," says Kasey. "I still have moments like that, of feeling insecure and unsure, but I feel differently about that now. I feel stronger and more powerful, not willing to compromise so much.

"This is like the strong, secure version of Not Pretty Enough."

The 14 tracks were recorded with an all-star band that Kasey dubs The Millionaires; John Watson on drums, Jeff McCormack on bass, with her husband Shane Nicholson, Jim Moginie (Midnight Oil) and Kasey's dad Bill Chambers playing all manner of guitars and stringed instruments. Then came a procession of respected guest vocalists for different tracks: Missy Higgins, Camille Te Nahu, Brooke Harvey, Andy Toombs, James Gillard, and seminal American country singer Patty Griffin.

"These guys are some of my favourite musicians, including the backbone of my touring band, so there is a familiarity and intuitive understanding of where this music should go," says Kasey. "When the songs are that fresh, there's something magical about taking them into the studio and bringing them to life, right then and there."

JETS OVERHEAD I Should Be Born Video Premiere

Beginning today I SHOULD BE BORN, the third single from NO NATIONS (Vapor Records), the second critically-acclaimed album from Victoria, BC quintet JETS OVERHEAD is premiering via Much More Music in Canada and AOL’s Spinner in the U.S.

Directed by Jeremy Lutter and JETS OVERHEAD vocalist ANTONIA FREYBE-SMITH, much of the new video finds the singer immersed in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of British Columbia. Antonia vividly recalls shooting the video that early April day, “It was a gorgeous evening and I love being in the water. I have some very strong memories (both as a kid and now as an adult) of sitting up to my chest in the ocean and contemplating things. But the water that day was freeeeeeeeeeezing! You could see the Olympic Mountains in the distance which were still covered in snow!”

This world premiere of I SHOULD BE BORN precludes a special show sponsored by world-famous KROQ radio, as a part of their Locals-Only series, at The Roxy in Hollywood and will mark the band’s first L.A. appearance since peforming at this year’s Coachella Music and Arts Festival.

Aug 14 – Augtobeer Fest @ Mountain View Plaza, Snoqualmie, WA
Aug 16 – Peter’s Room @ Roseland, Portland OR
Aug 19 – KROQ Locals Only @ The Roxy, Los Angeles, CA

In addition to their debut at Coachella, JETS OVERHEAD has logged numerous festival appearances in the past year including at South by Southwest (SXSW), Sasquatch Music and Bonnaroo as well as performances at the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games, the CMJ Music Marathon and Neil Young’s Bridge School Concert. All shows have been in support of the latest album No Nations, whose free-flowing dreamy rock textures have been compared to Coldplay, Snow Patrol and Radiohead. Previously, the group has toured with Tegan and Sara, The Temper Trap, The Dandy Warhols, The Stills, Alberta Cross, Broken Social Scene and LIGHTS.

Anchored by the breathy vocal interplay of the husband and wife duo of Adam Kittredge and Antonia Freybe-Smith, the band’s trademark atmospheric sound congeals together with Piers Henwood (a cousin of Kittredge) on guitar and keyboard, Jocelyn Greenwood on bass and Luke Renshaw on drums. Effortlessly intertwined, Jets Overhead have made many successful on-time landings on some of the biggest shows on TV including Grey’s Anatomy (“It’s A Funny Thing”), Bones (“Sure Sign”) and ABC Family’s hit TV show Pretty Little Liars (“Always A First Time”).

• All Music.com – “No Nations, is a pleasant, gently trippy throwback to the '90s shoegaze scene filled with waves of guitars, dreamily hazy vocals, and sweetly sung melodies.”

• Bullzeye.com - “Falling somewhere between Snow Patrol and early Radiohead, Jets Overhead is that rare band that might appeal to those in search of the next big thing.”

• Buzzbands.la – “No Nations,” a richly textured and downright gorgeous slice of Anglophile-leaning dream-pop.”

• ReaxMusic.com – “No Nations is an incredibly nuanced album of slow-burn art-pop meditations”

• The Lefsetz Letter - "No Nations" is a throwback to that era. Drop the proverbial needle and the everyday world will fall away. You'll be immersed in a bath of warm oil.”

ANTONIA BENNETT To Release Debut Jazz Album

NATURAL, the debut record from ANTONIA BENNETT, will be released by Mesa/Bluemoon on Tuesday, August 17. The 6-song EP introduces Bennett as a gifted interpreter of jazz classics with an impeccable and accessible vocal style.

“…[Antonia] conjures echoes of Billie Holliday and Rickie Lee Jones, with a hint of Betty Boop.” The New York Times

Like her legendary father Tony Bennett, Antonia embraces the warm, timeless sound of the standards and also like her dad did she brings a modern, nuanced style, which appeals to the new jazz audience. NATURAL includes “I Wish I Were in Love Again,” “I Fall to Pieces,” “Love is a Battlefield,” “Soon,” “Putting on the Ritz,” and “The Thrill is Gone.” The EP was produced by the award-winning songwriter, Holly Knight (“Love is a Battlefield,” “Ragdoll,” and “Simply the Best”) and features arrangements by Grammy®- nominated pianist/arranger Larry Goldings (James Taylor, Al Jarreau, Norah Jones, John Mayer, David Sanborn).

Using the American Songbook as her foundation, Antonia explains, “I take each of the songs that I do as a story, with a beginning, middle and end – like a monologue – and I try to do my best to tell that story,” says Antonia. "I grew up listening to the American Songbook, and a variety of artists singing those songs. Singing these songs is like a home-cooked meal, like comfort food, something that is a part of me. The way I grew up, if you were going to take a song that was done by many of the great artists, you should bring a piece of yourself into it. Interpretation is an art form.” She goes on to say, “We wanted to find wonderful standards that haven’t been overdone. In fact, none of these have been in my show repertoire. I used to sing “Putting on the Ritz” when I was a little kid on stage with my Dad. I grew up singing it and love it. And if you’ve ever seen Young Frankenstein, you gotta love it!”

A Berklee-trained musician, Antonia also had formal dance and acting training at the Strasburg Institute. With these skills and taking a page from her father’s book, she understands what it takes to be a complete entertainer. She is a well-rounded, hard-working creative talent who brings insightful presence to both the recording and the stage. Her ethereal beauty and elegant demeanor, coupled with her transcending vocal quality, makes her an in-demand talent in her own right.

Live performance has been part of Antonia’s life since the age of four, serenading audiences internationally in opera houses, casinos, jazz clubs and amphitheaters. She’s even performed with the legendary Count Basie, and for luminaries such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Gene Kelly, Rosemary Clooney, Les Paul and Ella Fitzgerald. Opening for Tony Bennett on his 2010 tour, Antonia graced stages from London’s Royal Albert Hall and iTunes Festival UK to the Umbria Jazz Festival in Italy and Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles.

QUEENSRYCHE 'EMPIRE' (20th Anniversary Edition)

QUEENSRŸCHE’S TRIPLE-PLATINUM ‘EMPIRE’ REMASTERED AND EXPANDED FOR 20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION, TO BE RELEASED NOVEMBER 9 BY CAPITOL/EMI

Deluxe 2CD and Digital Packages Feature Remastered Original Album Plus 13 Bonus Tracks, Including 10 Previously Unreleased Live Recordings

QUEENSRŸCHE has partnered with Capitol/EMI for the November 9 release of an expanded 20th Anniversary Edition of the band’s triple platinum-certified breakout album, EMPIRE. The new 2CD and digital packages both include the remastered album, featuring six hit singles, including the #1 smash “Silent Lucidity,” as well as 13 bonus tracks, among them 10 previously unreleased live performances recorded in 1990 at London’s Hammersmith Odeon. The 2CD package is presented in a lift-top box with five postcards, a fold-out poster and a booklet featuring photos from the band’s personal archive.
After building a devoted fan base with album and EP releases throughout the 1980s, including 1988’s critically acclaimed Operation: Mindcrime, QUEENSRŸCHE broke into the mainstream across North America and abroad with the 1990 release of Empire. In the U.S., the album peaked at #7 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and its hit ballad “Silent Lucidity” quickly became a heavy rotation staple at rock radio and on MTV, topping Billboard’s Modern Rock singles chart and earning QUEENSRŸCHE the coveted MTV Viewers Choice Award for the song’s music video. Empire also made the U.K.’s Top 10, and the album’s international success led to QUEENSRŸCHE’s 18-month headlining “Building Empires” world tour, the band’s longest trek to date.

EMPIRE also features the Billboard Top 10 Modern Rock hits “Jet City Woman” and “Another Rainy Night,” the Top 20 single, “Anybody Listening?,” and the Top 30 singles “Best I Can” and Empire.” In addition to the aforementioned live recordings, EMPIRE (20th Anniversary Edition)’s bonus tracks include “Last Time in Paris” from the Ford Forlaine soundtrack, “Dirty Lil’ Secret,” and the band’s cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Scarborough Fair.”

Since forming in Bellevue, Washington in 1981, QUEENSRŸCHE has sold more than 20 million albums around the world. The band continues to tour and record; AMERICAN SOLDIER was released last year.
